Our most current project is that of Tramonto Vista Park, the former water treatment facility on the Island of Venice. (This Park is located just South of Sharkey's and Dog Beach Park). Tramonto Vista Park is a 7 acre parcel of land which already has a substantial amount of money in bond allocated for a park project. The original plans included amenitiesfor the families of Venice but those specific features of the park were lobbied against and subsequently removed from the plans at Tramonto Vista. This means that the current plans call for that of a "passive/no activities" park. The development of this project was to be set in motion to begin early Spring, 2007. (Update it is now Jan of 08-and this project has still not begun) We do not see the benefit to the community to create yet another passive/no activities park in town. We see no need for a $3million dollar passive park! We would like to see the plans reversed (and the original plans of the park re-instated) to include...
Family Friendly
Youth Friendly
Community Friendly
A benefit to All
A Permanent structure Performance Venue for the entire community to enjoy anytime
Playground equipment
Volleyball
Pathways to/from the beach
Bike paths
Open Air Pavillions for picnics and events
We are requesting the Honorable Ed Martin and City Council Members revisit their decisions on the plans of this park, and to support the ORIGINAL PLANS for Tramonto Vista
